Broncos Aqib Talib Released From Hospital After Strip Club Shooting

DALLAS (CBS4/The Sports Exchange) - Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib is out of a Dallas hospital after being shot in the leg over the weekend.

The Broncos confirmed he was injured in the early Sunday morning shooting, which took place at the V Live adult entertainment club in Dallas.

Dallas police indicated a shooting occurred inside the club and then moved outside.

Talib was shot in the lower right leg and is expected to make a full recovery. According to Dallas TV station WFAA, Talib told police he was too drunk to remember much of the incident.

So far there have been no charges filed in the case.

NFL's Director of AFC Football Communications Jon Zimmer told CBS4 in an email they are "looking into the matter."

As a result of the injury, Talib did not travel to Washington for the Super Bowl 50 champions' meeting with President Barack Obama Monday afternoon.

The 30-year-old Talib, a three-time Pro Bowl honoree, has been involved in several incidents off the field during his career.

An altercation with a cab driver in 2009 led to his arrest on sample battery charges in St. Petersburg, Fla., and a one-game NFL suspension for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' season opener in 2010.

A felony charge in 2011 against Talib and his mother for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a confrontation with a boyfriend of Talib's sister was later dropped.

Talib played in 15 regular-season games for the Broncos last season and had 45 tackles, three interceptions and two touchdowns. In 107 career NFL games with the Buccaneers, New England Patriots and Broncos, he has 350 tackles and 30 interceptions.
