1 Killed, 2 Injured In Apartment Fire In Florence

FLORENCE, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman is dead and two people were injured after a fire destroyed their apartment in Florence early Saturday morning.

Crews pushed through thick smoke and flames and rescued two people inside. A third never made it out. Police found her body after the fire was under control.

An officer and a deputy who helped evacuate the building were treated for smoke inhalation.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until next-of-kin are notified.
