Man Gets Red Cross' Highest Award For Saving Coworker's Life

LONE TREE, Colo. (CBS4) - A man in Lone Tree was given the Red Cross' highest award on Tuesday after he helped save the life of his coworker last October.

Earl Corney performed CPR on another man after he suddenly collapsed. He kept doing that until emergency responders arrived -- something that officials say was life-saving.

The coworker survived.

"When I look back at it, I always ask myself, 'If something happened, would I be able to?' Because I think about my kids. If something happened to them, what's my reaction to them getting hurt?" Corney said.

The Red Cross says Corney knew what to do thanks to a Red Cross preparedness and health and safety course.
