Another Rabid Skunk Found In Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Animal control officers found yet another sick skunk in Jefferson County.

Rabies has been confirmed in two of the four skunks caught.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office released a picture showing officers cornering one of the skunks last week on West 53rd Lane. While they may look strange, the sheriff's office says officers need to wear all the gear for safety.

Officers were able to catch the skunk without getting sprayed. It's now being tested for rabies.

The sheriff's office is warning families in Jefferson County to make sure their pets are vaccinated and to avoid coming in contact with wild animals.
