Brandon Besson is facing several charges including attempted murder, assault on a police officer, burglary and arson.

Besson, 28, has an extensive criminal history. His appearance at the Jefferson County Justice Center included his latest alleged crimes and was just one of three cases he was scheduled for on Monday.

Besson allegedly ran away from police during a traffic stop at 14th and Lamar and then tried to hide in a four-plex in Lakewood. Police say he set the building on fire before he was arrested about a block away.
