Von Miller Plans To Skip Offseason Program

Miller, the Super Bowl MVP, received an exclusive franchise tag tender of $14.129 million from the Broncos for the 2016 season. The franchise tag allows the two sides additional time to try to work out a long-term deal by July 15.

Miller, 27, has not signed the tender, which is considered well below his projected value on the open market. If Miller signs a letter of protection and participates in the offseason program, he will get the full franchise tender if he suffers a season-ending injury.

The Broncos latest offer is around $18 million per year, according to reports.

Vice president of operations and general manager John Elway said at the NFL Scouting Combine that he "feels good" about where the Broncos stand with Miller.

Miller had 11 sacks during the 2015 regular season and five more during the playoffs. He was named the MVP of Super Bowl 50 with six tackles, 2.5 sacks, two quarterback hits and two forced fumbles that led to points.
