Rockies Officially Name Trevor Story The Starter At Shortstop

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (CBS4) - Rockies manager Walt Weiss made it official on Tuesday -- Trevor Story will start at shortstop when the season opens on Monday.

The absence of Jose Reyes helped, but Story won the job with the impressive performance he has turned in so far in Spring Training.

When CBS4 interviewed him last month, Story didn't know whether he would make the team.

"My lifelong dream is to play in the big leagues and that's why I signed out of high school," Story said.

Story said he is particularly excited to be on the Rockies "because they took a chance on me."
