Former CU Hoops Coach Ricardo Patton Hired As Assistant To Billups At DU
DENVER (CBS4) - Former University of Colorado basketball coach Ricardo Patton will be back on the bench in Colorado.
Patton has been hired as an assistant at the University of Denver by new head coach Rodney Billups.
Patton recruited Rodney Billups' other brother Chauncey Billups to CU and led the Buffs to two NCAA tournaments.
"Coach Patton has been a huge mentor for me through this whole process of six years of coaching," Billups said, according to denverpioneers.com. "He always told me if I ever got a head coaching job he would love to come with me. It gives him a chance to get back on the road and recruit, not only to teach and develop the student-athletes, but help me in the office with all his experience."
DU announced Steve Snell has also been hired as an assistant and current assistant Dan Ficke will remain on the staff.
