Canadian Man Accused In 'Brutal Sexual Assault' Posts Bond, Surrenders Passport
DENVER (CBS4) - A man from Canada accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Denver hotel appeared in court on Tuesday.
According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Colby James Messer, 30, has been charged with six counts of sexual assault in connection with a "brutal sexual assault of a 27-year-old woman."
A preliminary hearing for Messer has been set for June. Although he paid the $300,000 bond, he had to surrender his passport.
Investigators say the woman was assaulted by Messer and three of his friends at a downtown hotel last November. Those friends who are also considered suspects are believed to be in Canada.
