Broncos C Paradis Big Winner In Performance Pay Program

DENVER (The Sports Xchange)- Denver Broncos center Matt Paradis was the big winner in the NFL's "Performance-Based Pay" program after playing in every offensive play during the 2015 season.

Paradis, a second-year player from Boise State, earned $391,648 in additional pay to nearly double his 2015 income.

Paradis played for the league's rookie minimum salary of $435,000 and earned $5,850 in offseason workout bonuses. He also played in 15.6 percent of Denver's special teams' plays last season.
The top four earners were all offensive linemen.

Minnesota offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings was awarded $359,396, Cincinnati center Russell Bodine received $352,271 and Seattle offensive tackle Garry Gilliam landed $329,384.

New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler was fifth while receiving the top payout for a defensive performer. Butler, who intercepted Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson to give the Patriots the victory in Super Bowl 49, received $319,283 for his 2015 efforts.

The performance system measures playing time to salary. Players have been paid more than $1 billion since the inception of the program in 2002.
