Colorado Women Defeat California 78-57

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Haley Smith matched her career high with 24 points and Kennedy Leonard had career bests of 23 points and 13 assists as Colorado defeated California 78-57 on Sunday to end a five-game losing streak.

Leonard, a freshman, posted her second double-double this season and Jamee Swan her fourth with 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Buffaloes (7-20, 2-14 Pac-12).

Kristine Anigwe scored 30 points and had 11 rebounds, the 11th double-double for the freshman, and Mikayla Cowling added 12 points for the Bears (12-15, 3-13), who have lost six of their last seven games. They held the Buffaloes to 35 points in a 64-35 victory at home on Jan. 8.

Colorado trailed by two after the first quarter before outscoring the Bears 20-7 in the second, behind 11 points from Leonard, and 17-9 in the third. The Buffaloes kept the lead comfortably in double figures in the fourth with Smith scoring 14 points.
