C.J. Anderson's Got 'Mad Respect' For Tom Brady

DENVER (CBS4) - C.J. Anderson has gotten used to seeing Peyton Manning in his locker room -- they've spent three seasons together on the Broncos -- but that didn't mean the running back wasn't humbled by an exchange with another legendary NFL quarterback last weekend.

Anderson, who turned in a 16 carry, 72 yard performance against the Patriots the Broncos 20-18 victory on Sunday, says he was inspired by words of Tom Brady's.

Anderson shared a photo on Instagram of a quick conversation the two players had at Sports Authority Field at Mile High after the game ended.

According to Anderson, Brady told him the following:

way to fight and prove everybody wrong you belong in this league and your one hell of a player I love the way you run keep climbing to be great

The Broncos signed Anderson as an undrafted free agent in 2013, and since then he has flourished, even appearing in the Pro Bowl last season. (Only the fifth undrafted back to make a Pro Bowl.)

Anderson acknowledged that many people in Broncos Country don't like Brady, but he says he has "mad respect."

"Thanks Tom for telling me those words they will stick," he wrote on Instagram.
