10-Year-Old Girl Killed In Accident In Aurora

AURORA (CBS4) - A 10-year-old girl was killed in an accident at East 16th Avenue and Del Mar Parkway in Aurora Monday night.

Aurora police officers responded to the intersection after receiving reports of the crash.

Investigators say the girl was in a white Kia Sedona mini van, driven by her mother, which turned left in front of a silver Chrysler Town & Country mini van.

The Chrysler hit the Kia, causing it to flip on its side and slide into a blue Honda Accord that was stopped at a red light.

The driver of the Sedona, a 33-year-old woman, and her two other children, an 11-year-old boy and an 8-year-old daughter, were taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

The 46-year-old female driver of the Chrysler was also transported for her injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two adult men in the Honda were evaluated on scene, but released.

Police say the 10-year-old girl was in an improperly secured booster seat.

There is no indication of impairment by drugs or alcohol.

Any charges against the girl's mother are pending the completion of an investigation.

Names of those involved are not being released at this time.
