Police Arrest Arson Suspect In Fire That Killed 4 Dogs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Colorado Springs arrested an arson suspect wanted for starting a fire that killed four dogs.
Joshua Harvin was arrested for charges of first-degree arson and criminal mischief. He's also facing a charge of cruelty to animals.
The fire started in the basement of a home where Harvin's mother lived on Wednesday evening in the 3500 block of Jon Street in Colorado Springs.
Investigators believe Harvin, 21, used fire-starting logs to ignite the fire which burned for about two hours before firefighters arrived.
The fire was so large it took more than 30 firefighters to fight it. While battling the fire, crews found four dogs and removed them. All of the dogs died.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The home suffered about $20,000 damage.
Harvin remains in custody on a $10,000 bond.
