Body Found In Fire Wreckage Identified As Missing Man

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Authorities in Jefferson County have identified the body found in the wreckage of a building fire, and they say it is a man who worked at a treatment center there.

John Rutter, a 55-year-old counselor at Creative Treatment Options in Arvada, went missing after the fire erupted on Saturday morning in the building that housed his facility.

On Monday afternoon officials announced they had found a body, then on Tuesday just before noon they confirmed it was Rutter's body.

People who escaped from the building when it caught fire said Rutter was in the building before the flames broke out.

The Scenic Heights Professional Building II is located at 6475 Wadsworth Boulevard.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
