Police Search For Suspect Wanted In Deadly Shooting

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police searched for a suspect wanted in a deadly shooting in Aurora on Christmas night.

Officers rushed to a home at 20157 East Dartmouth Drive on reports of a shooting about 9:45 p.m. on Friday.

When officers arrived they found a man who had been shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but died a short time later.

Police say the victim and the suspect had some type of altercation inside of the home before the suspect shot the victim. The male suspect then ran away from the home.

"What I'm saying about it is, it's scary. We don't want to go outside, lock your doors… sounds like they haven't caught the guy," said neighbor Betsy Brunsman.

Detectives and investigators from the homicide unit have taken over the investigation and continued to collect evidence from the crime scene on Saturday morning.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

By calling Crime Stoppers tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
