Surveillance Video Captures Image Of Sex Assault Suspect
THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Thornton have released a surveillance image that shows a man wanted for sexual assault on a child.
The attack happened near W. 84th Avenue and Huron Street in Thornton last Wednesday.
Police say the 13-year-old victim had just left a dance class at Urban Acrobatics around 7 p.m. on Dec. 16. She was walking with her friend and her friend's mom to their car in the parking lot, when they saw a strange man lurking outside.
The man followed the two girls and the adult woman to the car but before the adult female was able to get in the vehicle, the man entered the backseat where the two girls were and began attacking one of them.
The adult female was able to pull them out of the car and the man ran away.
The man police believe was responsible for the attack was captured on surveillance video wearing a construction vest with the letters "g c s" from an unknown company.
Police had previously released a sketch of the suspect and a sketch of the tattoo found on his forearm.
Detectives hope someone recognizes the suspect or the vest.
