Reports Of Deceased In Planned Parenthood Shooting
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A University of Colorado at Colorado Springs police officer has been confirmed dead in the shooting at a Planned Parenthood on Friday.
UCCS released a statement by Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak, saying "We at UCCS are saddened by the tragic events today at the offices of Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, about 10 minutes southwest of campus."
At least eleven people were injured in the incident, five of which were police officers.
A man entered the Planned Parenthood facility on Centennial Boulevard at approximately 11:45 a.m. and began shooting. More than five hours of an active shooting situation ensued.
The suspect was taken into custody just before 5 p.m.
