And with a great name like Brock, it didn't take long before fans and sports reporters began coming up with fun plays on words to describe the quarterback, who will be making his second start on Sunday night against New England.

Here are some of the Brock-isms that may catch on in Denver should Osweiler continue to impress after waiting in the wings for three-and-a-half seasons behind Peyton Manning.

Brock n' Roll
CBSSports.com used this phrase to describe Osweiler's 48 yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in the first quarter against the Bears.

Brock to the Future
In writing his Team Grades for CBSDenver.com after the Broncos 17-15 win, Mark Schiff made a reference to the popular 1980s movie Back to the Future.

The Brock Lobster
Another pop culture reference was made by the show NFL Fantasy Live. They sent out a tweet showing Osweiler with lobster claws for arms and referencing the song "Rock Lobster" by the new wave band the B-52's.

Blockslide/Brocket Launcher
RTD bus and light rail operator Kevin Hart shared a fun comment with CBS4 on Facebook during Sunday's game. He wrote A Brockslide is about to hit Bears nation. Another fan, Denverite Davis Lutter, wrote Brocket Launcher after seeing just how hard Osweiler slings his passes.

The Great and Powerful Os
CBS4's Vic Lombardi decided to have some fun with Osweiler's last name instead of his first on Sunday night during the CBS4 Sports show All Access, and he made reference to the film "The Wizard of Oz."

"We saw a series of firsts on this field," Lombardi said in his report from Soldier Field. "First time all season Peyton Manning has not appeared in or been in attendance for a Broncos football game. First time the Broncos offense didn't commit a single turnover. And the first career NFL victory for the great and powerful Os."

Lombardi has watched the 25-year-old QB throughout his NFL career. The image below shows Lombardi measuring himself next to the 6-foot-8 Osweiler soon after his arrival in the Mile High City.

Brockness Monster
This list could actually be much, much longer, and thanks to Twitter one could spend hours running across one Brock nickname after another. MileHighReport.com assembled a list that reaches to 59. Our favorite from that list? Brockness Monster.
