ArtReach Festival Of Trees Helps At-Risk Youth Attend Cultural Experiences

DENVER (CBS4)- ArtReach helps make sure everyone gets exposure to a variety of cultural experiences. After a decade on hold, the organization is getting into the holiday spirit with the Festival of Trees.

"We've been on a 10-year hiatus for Festival of Trees and we're thrilled to be bringing it back this year. It's at 6300 W. Colfax Ave. in the heart of the 40West Arts District," said Festival of Trees Chairman Jeff Hovorka during Saturday morning's CBS4 Morning News interview.

"Festival of trees is a series of tress that are made by artists, way over the top, and it is a winter wonderland indoor event that people can tour and also we have events throughout the run and then the trees are all sold off in the final event," said designer Lonnie Hanzon.

"The proceeds go to ArtReach and ArtReach provides access to the arts for at-risk youth, seniors, teens, pretty much everyone. We provide tickets to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts theatrical productions; the Colorado Ballet, the Colorado Symphony, Kronke Sports, so the people have access to the arts and cultural events," said Hovorka.

This year's Festival of Trees has a theme that encompasses the history of holiday tree decoration.

"The proceeds go to Art Reach and Art Reach provides access to the arts for at-risk youth, seniors, teens, pretty much everyone. We provide tickets to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts theatrical productions; the Colorado Ballet, the Colorado Symphony, Kronke Sports, so the people have access to the arts and cultural events," said Hovorka.

The ArtReach Festival of Trees is Nov. 25- Dec. 3 at 40West Arts District at 6300 W. Colfax Ave.
