Mother Accused Of Pimping Out 12-Year-Old Daughter Formally Charged
GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A mother in Jefferson County now formally faces charges of pimping out her 12-year-old daughter to pay bills.
Julie Greiner, 43, appeared in court via closed circuit TV from jail on Tuesday. Investigators say Greiner pimped out her daughter to a 23-year-old Australian man, identified as Thomas Keski. They say in exchange for sex the man sent Greiner money, the girl gifts, and that all three of them took a trip to Hawaii together.
Investigators say Keski also visited in Greiner and her daughter in Colorado. He allegedly sent thousands of dollars, sometimes used to pay rent and other bills, as well as gifts like jewelry and electronics.
"The mother was aware that there was inappropriate sexual conversations and contact going on between the man and her daughter,"Jefferson County District Attorney Pete Weir said after Greiner's arrest.
Police in Lakewood have been working with the authorities in Australia and Keski has been arrested and charged in that country.
The girl's brother was the person who alerted police and turned their mother in.
Greiner has until Oct. 27 to schedule a preliminary hearing.
