Mom Arrested, Suspected Of Pimping Out Daughter To Australian Man

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have arrested a woman who they believe was pimping out her daughter in exchange for rent money and gifts.

Julie Greiner was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with human trafficking of a minor for sexual servitude, pimping of a child and sexual assault of a child.

Greiner, 43, of Lakewood, is believed to have allowed her young daughter to engage in a sexual relationship with an adult man while accepting money from him.

The victim is alleged to be Greiner's 12-year-old daughter.

The girl allegedly met Thomas Keski, 23, who lives in Australia, in an online chat last year. According to court records, the online relationship became sexual through chatting.

Police say Keski began to send money and gifts to the girl and her mother. He allegedly sent thousands of dollars, sometimes used to pay rent and other bills, as well as gifts like jewelry and electronics.

According to the arrest warrant, Keski and his mother came to Colorado where he met Greiner and her daughter and took them on a trip to Hawaii. Keski and the child slept in the same pullout bed while Greiner shared a room with Keski's mother.

"There were gifts and money being provided by this adult in Australia to the child's mother," Jefferson County District Attorney Pete Weir said. "The mother was aware that there was inappropriate sexual conversations and contact going on between the man and her daughter."

Police in Lakewood have been working with the authorities in Australia and Keski has been arrested and charged in that country.

CBS4's Kelly Werthmann spoke with the victim's brother, Alex Griener, who reportedly turned his mother in to authorities. He declined an interview with CBS4 but said, "I just did what any brother would do for their sibling." He also said, "Money can make people do bad things."

Greiner appeared in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday. She remains in custody without bond.
