Neighbors Relieved By Arrest In Murder Case

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police announced Sunday that a man wanted for murder had been taken into custody Saturday night.

Lloyd Rickey Henderson was allegedly involved in an altercation at an apartment on Potomac Way last Sunday in Aurora. It ended with a shooting, and the resulting death of 30-year-old Cory Clemons.

Neighbors are still shocked that the deadly shooting occurred at their apartment complex. They said the victim was just steps away from his front door when he was shot down.

Joy Jones told CBS4 she remembers saying hello to her neighbor Clemons.

"I would just say 'hi,' because he would be out on his side balcony," Jones said.

Now when she passes by, she sees flowers and candles left in Clemons' memory.

Other neighbors who learned of the shooting are fearful of stray bullets.

"I'm glad bullets didn't come my way," said a neighbor named Daniel.

Police arrested Henderson on a charge of first degree murder. His arrest came six days after Clemons was gunned down.

"Glad it didn't take too long. I'm tired of these people just ... I mean, you should be able to handle things without shooting," said Jones.

Police have released very few details around the arrest. They aren't saying anything about what led up to the shooting, or if the victim knew the shooter.
