Apparent Police Impersonator Comes To House Right After Break-In

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Fort Collins have released sketches of two men they are searching for after a woman reported a burglary and subsequent incident in which a man impersonated a police officer.

The woman says she found a man in her home Wednesday evening. She locked herself in a room and he left.

Then another man arrived identifying himself as a police officer and took what seemed to be a police report. He left soon after that.

When the victim called police later to follow up, the department told her they had never gotten a call and never sent an officer.

The break-in suspect was described as being white and between 30 and 35 years old. He was between 6 foot and 6-foot-2 and head a medium build, short hair and weighed between 170 and 180 pounds.

The alleged police impersonator was described as being a white male with black hair and blue eyes. He was between 35 and 40, 5-foot-8 and he had a stocky build.

Police have not stated the location of the home where the incident was reported.
