'Expect The Best Shot' From Lions During Sunday Night's Game Against Broncos

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4)- As the Denver Broncos (2-0) travel to play the Detroit Lions (0-2) in the team's home opener on Sunday, the team is getting ready for a tough game, despite what the teams' records show.

Broncos cornerback Chris Harris and tight end Owen Daniels talked about the upcoming game with CBS4's Vic Lombardi during the CBS4 Football Blitz taped at the Viewhouse in Centennial.

"It's going to be a huge game, we know. We expect their best shot, their best plays. They got nothing to lose so it's definitely going to be a tough game," said Harris.

"Everyone's going to get cranked up. You look at it for them, we said it a couple of times, it's the home opener, they're going to be fired up, they want to see their team play well, so it's Sunday Night Football, they're going to be on it… And they're playing us," said Daniels.

They also talked about their struggles with the offense.

"That's the reality, we have struggled," said Daniels. "I think we put a good game plan together this week, we've been practicing well, it was good to get out of those two games with wins with how good our defense has been playing so we can only go up from here. We're going to continue to improve and work."

Harris said when it comes to the defense, it's a little big of turnovers luck and creating your own luck.

"We've been forcing them, people can get mad at Jamaal Charles, 'Ah man you fumbled' but we really took those balls from him, that's what you need for attacking defense and we're just playing with a lot of chemistry. We love playing with each other and I think that's what's making us go," said Harris. "We practice just attacking the football. Every time we try to tackle somebody we just try to punch the ball out as we try to tackle them. I think it's working out. We love these new coaches, we love their philosophy… It's just nothing but attacking."
