3 Students Hurt When SUV Pins Them Against Wall
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Three students were seriously hurt when an SUV backed up and pinned them against the wall of an elementary school in unincorporated Adams County on Thursday afternoon.
The Colorado State Patrol confirms that the three Valley View Elementary school students were seriously injured on Thursday afternoon. The school is located near 70th Avenue and Galapagos Street.
State troopers tweeted that although the injuries were serious, they were not life-threatening injuries.
Troopers say the students were on the sidewalk when the SUV backed into them.
All were rushed to the hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
One mother said her daughter heard what happened.
"I was waiting for her and I was like, 'Oh, what's wrong?' and she says, 'Someone just hit, like, I don't know how many kids' and I said, 'Oh my God' and started panicking. She started telling me and I asked, 'Are they okay?' and she said, 'I don't know, mom' and I got so scared," said parent Ana Magana.
Troopers continue to investigate what happened and interview witnesses. They say that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected but are trying to determine why the driver lost control.
