Possible Child Luring Incident In Boulder Investigated

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Boulder are investigating a possible child luring incident involving a 10-year-old girl.

Police say the little girl was walking home with a friend about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday from Crestview Elementary, located at 1897 Sumac. They were walking to the friend's home when they separated because the other girl wanted to take a shortcut.

The victim continued walking on the north sidewalk of Yarmouth Avenue. She told police she was almost next to the Emergency Family Assistance Association building at 1574 Yarmouth Avenue when she heard a car coming up behind her making a "clanking" sound.

She said the car pulled up next to the curb and the driver asked her to come over while using his arm to beckon her. The victim ran northbound on 16th Street.

She told police the car shifted into reverse and backed onto Yarmouth Avenue and then onto Lemon Street.

The suspect is described as an early to mid-20s Latino man with a goatee beard that was not connected on the sides, with a thin build, an earring in his left ear and something on his lower lip. He was wearing a black dirty shirt, was smoking and had a skull tattoo on his right forearm.
