Driver Was 'Roughed Up' By Police Impersonator

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Northglenn are investigating after a man claimed he was "roughed up" by a man who was pretending to be a police officer.

The 20-year-old victim told police he was pulled over in the area of Huron Street and Kennedy Drive near 104th and Federal on Tuesday night.

The victim said after he handed over his vehicle information, the suspect directed him to exit his vehicle and directed him to walk in a straight line. After completing that task, the victim said the suspect struck him in the face causing a minor injury.

The suspect then returned to his vehicle and drove away.

Investigators are looking for a white male, 6-foot to 6-foot-2 with a medium build, clean shaven with blonde spiked hair who was wearing black pants and a light blue long-sleeved shirt. He also wore a duty belt which held a holster, ammo pouches and handcuff case. It is unclear whether the suspect was armed.

He was driving a black SUV with blue flashing lights on the roof and possibly a spotlight on the driver's side near the side view mirror.
