Dog Found Dead Inside Burning Home In Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- A dog was found dead inside a burning home in Englewood on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters rushed to the home in the 2700 block of South Grant Street just after 10 a.m. Tuesday after a neighbor saw the fire and called 911.

There initially was concern that a man may have been trapped inside but firefighters found a deceased dog inside. The back corner of the home was heavily damaged.

Arson investigators were on scene which is typical in these types of fires, according to Melissa Taylor with the Denver Fire Department.

What caused the fire is under investigation. The Englewood Fire Department disbanded in May and now all areas of the city are covered by firefighters from Denver.
