Volunteers Harvest Vegetables For Metro Area Food Banks
DENVER (CBS4)- More than two dozen volunteers harvested vegetables on Tuesday from Denver metro area urban gardens that will be donated to food banks.
Volunteers from the Denver design firm Stantec teamed up with Grow Local Colorado to harvest cucumbers, tomatoes, summer squash and a variety of greens from three urban gardens.
The team is part of more than 7,500 Stantec employees volunteering in their communities across the globe on Tuesday.
The food will help give those who shop at food pantries some fresh vegetables.
