Hedgehog Receives Successful Emergency Surgery

DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Dumb Friends League means it when they say they welcome all creatures.

Tucker the hedgehog arrived at the Dumb Friends League overnight last Thursday with a severely injured leg.

Staff members noticed he was having trouble walking and that his left rear leg appeared in trouble. Veterinarians very carefully anesthetized him to perform a successful amputation of the leg.

DDFL said Tucker is recovering well at the shelter and one of the volunteers is interested in adopting him once he is fully recovered.
