Evans Police Search For Attempted Child Enticement Suspect

EVANS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Evans are searching for a man who tried to lure a child into his pickup early Friday morning.

Investigators said about 6:30 a.m. Friday, a child had just left home and was walking to the bus stop and was approached by a suspicious male in a pickup truck.

The boy was walking from his home in the 3300 block of Coyote Lane when a man in a brown, full-size pickup truck, possibly a 2000 or newer Chevrolet, with an extended cab and tinted windows stopped near the child.

The man made motions gesturing the child to come to the truck. The child's parents saw the incident and walked out of their home. The man then drove away.

The man is described as being in his late 40s or early 50s and heavy set. His race is unknown. The parents also described the truck as having a color-matching cover over the bed of the truck.

Police said the pickup does not match the description of any vehicles used in similar incidents in the region.
