COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) – The Colorado Rapids invited the public to join them for the MLS All-Star Community Day on Monday.
Together with Major League Soccer, the Rapids unveiled plans to build a new soccer mini-pitch in Commerce City.
The annual event focuses on giving back to the community.
MLS plans to build 20 new mini-pitches in underserved cities across the country.
“What we are most proud of are the solid roots that we’re leaving in these communities where our teams play, where our players live, and where our events take place.” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said.
The event also invited families to enjoy carnival games and sign up for Colorado soccer programs.
The faceoff between the MLS All-Stars and the Tottenham Hotspur is at 7 p.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
