Federal Boulevard Reopens From 67th To 70th After Emergency Bridge Work

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Emergency bridge repair at Federal Boulevard between 67th and 70th avenues in Westminster continues but the bridge has reopened to traffic.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said there was a soil nail wall failure, or an air pocket in the dirt, on the southbound portion of the Federal Boulevard bridge that could have caused an air pocket collapse of the roadway above.

The emergency work is part of a $12 million construction project to make the bridge safer. The new bridge is being widened that will allow for future expansion of the roadway.
