Hazmat Team Finds No Ricin In Chemical Investigation Of 2 Homes
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Adams County Sheriff is investigating two possible hazardous materials situations at two different locations.
Hazardous chemical crews surrounded a home West 56th Avenue and Federal Boulevard at about 4:20 p.m. on Friday after getting a tip that someone may have been making Ricin.
Ricin is a highly hazardous protein.
The other location at 54th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard was searched and determined to have no indication of ricin.
The person who reported the chemical at these two locations is in custody on unrelated warrants. It is unclear if the man lives at one of the locations or just visits, but he does travel between the two.
The scene on Federal Boulevard was determined to be clear just before 7 p.m.
No ricin was found at either location, and no injuries were reported.
