Maroon Bells Visitors Now Required To Take A Bus

ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4) - From now on visitor's to the Maroon Bells will need to be bused in.

The bus from the Aspen Highlands Ski Area up to the Maroon Bells started on Saturday. The Forest Service says it's just too popular of a location to let everyone drive.

There are a few exceptions for cars allowed up to the popular hiking and camping spot, but authorities are urging most people to take the bus.

Service runs seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the rest of the summer. Bus tickets are $6.
