Search For Boy Who Fell Out Of Raft Includes Dogs, Underwater Cameras

SALIDA, Colo. (CBS4) - Search crews from six different agencies were back out on the Arkansas River on Friday searching for an 11-year-old boy who fell out of a raft.

The accident happened on Wednesday afternoon near Salida in Chaffee County in a section of class 3 rapids in Browns Canyon. The boy, a Golden resident, was one of three people who fell out of a raft belonging to The Adventure Company rafting outfitters.

The two other people who fell out were pulled back into the raft and weren't hurt, but no one was able to locate the boy.

The crews on Friday were using dogs and underwater cameras in their search.

The Arkansas River water level continues to rise due to recent rainfall and is causing some minor flooding in the county. The river in the area on Friday was flowing at approximately 3,800 cubic feet per second.

The boy's identity hasn't been released.
