CSP-Involved Accident In Longmont Followed By Another Crash
LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado State Patrol and Weld County Sheriff's Office were both on the scene of a car crash in Longmont Saturday morning.
A trooper is in serious condition and another person was found dead at the scene after an accident.
A second incident occurred shortly after, in which two CSP members were involved. Injuries are confirmed but the severity is not known. The events surrounding this second accident are unclear.
CSP reported four mangled cars at about 11 a.m. and a large area of debris was seen. Images from Copter4 show a black Honda Civic, with damage on both ends, off the roadway and straddling a small irrigation ditch.
A white car had rear-end damage and the trooper's car was also somewhat damaged.
Highway 66 is closed Weld County Road 1 near Longmont for the investigation.
