Traffic Delayed As Police Investigate Shooting Near Federal & Alameda
DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver investigated a shooting that caused some traffic delays near Federal Boulevard and Alameda Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
Undercover officers were conducting a drug operation in the area of Federal and Alameda about 3 p.m. when they spotted a suspicious car they believed was involved with their operation.
Officers were about to pull over the car when the driver got out, approached officers and said his passenger was shot in the leg.
After further investigation, police said they believed the person shot himself. It is unknown whether the shooting was an accident.
The driver was arrested but it is unclear why he was taken into custody.
The investigation could impact traffic in that area through the afternoon commute.
