Man Walks Into CU Hospital After Being Shot In The Chest

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora are investigating after a man walked into University of Colorado Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

According to police, the shooting occurred Sunday evening near North Moline Street and East 13th Avenue. At approximately 5:50 p.m. the man showed up at the hospital.

"Initial investigation revealed that the victim was sitting in a vehicle at East 13th Avenue and North Moline Street when he was approached by an unknown male who produced a gun and shot him," police said in a statement.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a mustache, 5-foot-10 and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt.

The victim's name and condition haven't been released.

The Major Crimes Unit is handling the investigation into this case. They are asking anyone with information about this shooting to call Agent Jamie Krieger at (303) 739-6113. Tipsters can also call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP (7867). By using Crime Stoppers tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
