Woman Who Lost Baby In Brutal Attack Delivers Cookies To Police, Nurses

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - The woman who lost her unborn child as the result of a brutal stabbing attack in Longmont paid a visit to the police and nurses who helped her, according to a Facebook post.

On Tuesday Michelle Wilkins posted a picture on her Facebook page as she delivered homemade cookies to police officers in Longmont. She also thanked the nurses in the intensive care unit at Longmont United Hospital, calling them all beautiful people.

"Got to bring some homemade cookies to my new friends, the police force in Longmont! Also made a delivery of chocolate chip cookies to the awesome nurses in the ICU. All beautiful people. I'm so blessed to know them!"

The crime took place on March 18 at the home of Dynel Lane. Lane, 34, faces attempted murder and assault charges for allegedly stabbing and injuring Wilkins and cutting the baby from her womb and stealing it. The incident happened after Wilkins came to the house apparently to view baby clothes put up for sale on Craigslist.

An autopsy determined the child was not alive after it left its mother's body.
