Boulder Resident Loans City Buffalo Statue For Display On Pearl Street Mall

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A Boulder resident has purchased a bronze buffalo statue he is loaning to the city to display on the Pearl Street Mall for a year.

According to bouldercolorado.gov, Steve Tebo, owner of Tebo Properties, bought the statue that's identical to the sculpture just southwest of Folsom Field on the University of Colorado campus.

The sculpture was created in 1995 by New Mexico artist Stephen LeBlanc.

"I am happy to provide this artwork for the enjoyment of the Boulder community," Tebo said.

The statue was installed on Tuesday on the 1100 block of the mall.

"No city funds are being used to install or remove the statue at the site. City Parks and Recreation staff will clean the sculpture and the donor will be responsible for maintaining it over the one-year period."
