Evidence Technician Looking For Ancestors After Finding Civil War Era Items

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - An evidence lab technician with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is trying to track down a family whose ancestors' belongings were found amongst recovered stolen items.

The items were recovered in 2010. They include a letter from the late 1800s about a man's Civil War pension, several family photos, and even a poem written by a mother to her daughter.

Fascinated with the items, Evidence Technician Kim Van Norman has been trying to track down the descendants.

"It starts out with Richard and Emma Stull. Richard is the Civil War veteran," Van Norman said. "He's married to Emma, who one of her daughters is named Lillie."
