Denver B-Cycle To Install Largest Station Fully Funded By Private Company

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Mayor Michael Hancock was on hand Tuesday afternoon to announce the installation of Denver B-cycle's largest station.

The 30-dock station will be located in Highland Gateway Park with easy access to LoDo and Coors Field from the 20th Street Bridge.

The announcement was made at Avanti Food & Beverage at 3200 Pecos Street, the site of a new restaurant development. The station was designed "as part of the overall plan for mitigating concerns about parking" at the new Avanti development, the mayor's office said in a statement.

"The station is fully funded by the private developer. Other stations have had partial private funding in the past, but not as part of a full redevelopment plan."

Avanti is a collective concept that will allow diners to choose from among seven different restaurants.

"The concept is seen, in part, as an incubator for chefs to try out restaurant ideas without having to invest in the entire build-out of a stand-alone restaurant."

"Partnerships like this one with Avanti will continue to be a key strategy for future B-cycle system growth," Denver B-cycle Executive Director Nick Bohnenkamp said in a statement.
