2 Teens Charged With Vandalizing Denver Church

DENVER (AP) — Two teens have been charged in the vandalism of a Denver church earlier this month.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey announced Thursday that he filed juvenile charges against a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old.

They're accused of destroying a statue of St. Francis at St. Francis of Assisi Polish National Catholic Church, breaking inside and causing more damage.

Surveillance video shows one of the vandals smashing the statue's face with a hammer before giving another person a high-five.

The teens were arrested last week and have been released back to their parents.
