92 More Potential Jurors Released In Theater Shooting Case

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — More than 90 potential jurors were released during the fourth day of jury selection in the Aurora theater shooting case.

Judge Carlos A. Samour Jr. dismissed 80 people before the proceedings ended Friday over answers they gave on a screening questionnaire. He didn't give specifics.

Twelve other people were released for a variety of reasons, including health issues, a dying family member and language problems. Two weren't U.S. citizens.

An unprecedented 9,000 possible jurors were summoned in the case, and more than 210 have been released in the first four days.

The jury will hear the case against James Holmes, who's charged with killing 12 people and injuring 70 others in the July 2012 assault at an Aurora theater.

He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
