Parker Residents Wary After Attempted Kidnapping

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4) - Parker residents are on alert just days after two men tried to abduct a young girl while she was walking on a sidewalk near her home.

Police said the girl, who's younger than 10, was searching for her family's dogs at about 4 p.m. Monday when two men rolled up in a full-size black pickup. The passenger reached through the window with his arms and said, "Come here" to the girl.

The girl screamed and ran home to her mother, who called police. The incident happened near Motsenbocker Road and Vineland Drive.

The driver was described as a bald black male with a goatee and a tattoo on his right shoulder. The passenger is a Hispanic male, possibly in his 20s, with shorter hair on the sides and longer hair on the top of his head. He was clean-shaven and wearing a black t-shirt.

Police released a sketch of the passenger on Wednesday. They said Thursday they are investigating leads they've received from the public.

The attempted kidnapping set some residents on edge this week.

"We panicked a little bit because we walk down this street all the time," resident Milene Anderson, who has a 3-year-old son, said. "We just want to make sure he's safe."

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Parker police at 303-841-9800.
