Lovejoy Comet Visible Over Colorado Skies

DENVER (CBS4) - The Lovejoy Comet will be visible over Colorado skies through mid-January, and it's experienced an unexpected brightening.

So now's the time to catch a glimpse of it, the experts at the Denver Astronomical Society advise.

The comet will be about 20 degrees above the horizon due south. (To measure 20 degrees above the horizon, hold a fist out at arm's length. The distance from the bottom of your fist to the top is 10 degrees. So just stack it twice.)

According to the group, casual sky watchers can glimpse it using binoculars.
