Carjacking Suspect Dead Following Chase
MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — A carjacking suspect is dead after he crashed during a pursuit involving Teller County sheriff's deputies and the Colorado State Patrol.
Authorities were called about an armed carjacking in Manitou Springs Saturday afternoon.
Troopers say the suspect hit a Manitou Springs police vehicle and two other cars while attempting to flee.
Teller County deputies put spikes on the road and when the vehicle ran over them, the vehicle veered off the road down a steep embankment and rolled over, killing the driver.
The driver has been identified as 44-year-old Anthony Aurelio of Cripple Creek.
