Short And Tweet: Broncos Popular On Twitter's #NFL2014 Map
DENVER (CBS4) - Where are you, Summit County Broncos fans?
Aside from a single blip, every county in Colorado follows the Denver Broncos' @Broncos Twitter feed more than any other NFL franchise. (In Summit County, oddly, 44.66 percent of Twitter users who follow a franchise are interested in the Seattle Seahawks; just 14.79 percent follow the Broncos.)
That's according to Twitter's interactive map, which measures how well-represented NFL teams are on Twitter in every county across the country.
Percentages in each county show the most followed teams of Twitter users who follow an NFL franchise. Keep in mind the percentages show followers -- not necessarily fans -- so technically it's more a measure of interest than adoration.
But still the map doesn't lie. The Broncos are popular across a huge swath of the country:
Wyoming, interestingly, is the only state in which all counties have a plurality of Broncos followers.
This map isolates the Broncos distributed throughout the country:
Close to home, not even half of Twitter users in Denver County -- just 43 percent -- follow the Broncos in the team's home county. But they boast larger margins in counties spread throughout the state. Seventy-five percent follow the Broncos in Phillips County, while 67 percent do in Saguache and Bent counties, and 65 percent do in Huefano and Elbert counties.
And if you're worried about too many Seahawks fans in Colorado's high country, note that a lone Washington county has more Broncos than Seahawks followers:
